Ahead of the 42nd election of the chairman of the Korea Sports Council, the possibility of not holding the second debate has increased as all candidates have not been agreed upon.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, a policy debate for candidates for the 42nd president of the Korea Sports Council was held at Bitmaru Broadcasting Support Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do.
The six candidates in attendance had a heated two-hour discussion on their qualifications as KOC presidents and their policy visions.
In particular, major agendas, such as ways to ensure fairness and transparency in the sports community and budget management issues, were dealt with at this meeting.
However, some candidate camps running in this election expressed opposition to the second debate scheduled for the 10th, raising the possibility that additional debates will be canceled this time as they did four years ago.
Candidate Oh Joo-young raised suspicions of illegal telephone polls and reported to the election management committee that there was a situation in which the electoral list was delivered to a third party.
According to the current election management regulations for the chairman of the sports association, this is strictly illegal, and controversy over the fairness and transparency of the election is also spreading.
Lee Ki-heung highlighted his achievement of increasing the KOC's budget from 200 billion won to 500 billion won, referring to the restrictions caused by government interference.
However, candidate Yoo Seung Min refuted, saying, "Even if the budget has increased, field leaders must solve the reality that they do not even receive the minimum wage."
In addition, a nerve race between Kang Shin-wook and Yoo Seung Min also drew attention. Kang Shin-wook mentioned suspicions about Yoo Seung Min's payback and controversy over player selection when he was the president of the Table Tennis Association. 안전놀이터
Then, candidate Yoo Seung Min responded by saying, "It's unfounded negative," claiming that the prepared data can be sufficiently explained.
The candidates also proposed reform measures in the sports community. Kim Yong-joo said he would regain trust by checking internal regulations of the Korea Sports Council.
Oh Joo-young then proposed reforming the authority of the Sports and Fair Trade Commission. Kang Tae-sun promised to introduce a professional management system for sports organizations.
The election to elect the 'sports president' of the sports world will be held on the 14th with a vote of 2,244 delegates at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul.
